Basel II Implementation-Director Level-New York, USA-Salary: Competitive


This biggest British investment bank is looking to hire a Basel II Director to help design, develop, implement and review Basel 2 models and framework and how that links to their P&L.
The position is based in New York and requires establishing and overseeing effective model governance for all Basel II models.  
The role will also focus on implementing stress testing process and presenting risk appetite to the Board. Also a key area in this role is an experience of dealing with regulators.

Role:
-Establishing and overseeing effective model governance for all of the Bank's  Basel II models,
-Implementing of the Bank's stress testing process,
-Presenting risk appetite to the Board, and monitoring risk profile against agreed appetite,
-Primary liaison for integration with  US regulators,
-Primary liaison for bi-annual FSA meetings focused on traded products,
-Develop relationships with other banks operating in the US.

Requirements:
-A good university/college degree in a quantitative discipline,
-Post graduate degree in a quantitative discipline a plus,
-A minimum of 10 years work experience in the banking/capital markets industry, with prior experience working in Risk Management,
-Strong leadership and managerial experience,
-Proven track record of leading a team in a major financial institution,
-Experience of working and dealing with regulators,
-High energy, proactive, and self-starter,
-Communication at both specialist (technical) and generalist (business) levels,
-Ability to translate business problems into an appropriate modelling framework and environment and to assess the degree of rigor/confidence required around the output,
-Fluent in statistical concepts and ability to identify the crucial assumptions and limitations within a complex technical argument/presentation,
-Ability to work across the organization and work effectively with senior management and the front office business,
-Strong organizational skills including ability to manage multiple deliverables across different teams.

The sort of profile the hiring manager is looking for is very communicative, very commercial quantitative risk specialist who can think proactively rather than reactionary in his/her risk assessments.
