Credit risk specialist with experience in commodities required for leading bank in London, £50,000-£60,000
As a result of their continued expansion of their International Commodity trading businesses they are looking for an analyst to join their highly skilled Credit team. You will work alongside industry experts to analyse and structure new business initiatives, innovative financing/hedging solutions and analyse a diverse range of counterparties. You will contribute significantly to transactions and deals, participating from early in the process. This is an excellent opportunity which will suit a highly analytical and commercially oriented individual who enjoys working in a fast paced, challenging and complex environment.
The role: Initially focusing on our commodities business, you will also have the opportunity to partner with a diverse range of business areas giving you exposure to a range of complex transactions including structured derivative products, corporate lending, project and structured finance and equity underwriting. You will assist with the structuring of transactions, reviewing and negotiating legal terms as well as providing general advice and analysis to the business areas. This is a high profile team who deal extensively with senior management and your ability to effectively manage and analyse transactions is key to this role.
Responsibilities: -Analyse difficult counterparties for trading lines, -Project managing/participation of the evaluation and analysis of structured transactions identifying key issues and co-ordinating the credit response from start to finish, -Analyse and present complex structures and make recommendations to senior Risk Management staff, in a concise and clear manner, -Active involvement with other RMG Credit professionals on new business and product approvals, -It is expected that where appropriate you will perform client visits to gain a better understanding of the client's position where documented information is limited, -Real time, on-going and self-initiated analysis of counterparty and industry developments, forecasting likely impacts, -Conduct annual reviews of existing limits and counterparties, -Ensure that appropriate guidelines, procedures and approvals are in place for new products or limits, through proactive liaison with appropriate business unit and other relevant areas, -Develop and maintain strong working relationships with, the businesses, external clients, senior management other areas of the Risk Management Group.
Ideal Profile: -Degree educated (min 2:1), -Strong analytical skills with gained in either a financial institution or industry related organisation, -Exposure to commodity markets-energy and/or metals markets, -Derivative products knowledge-a working knowledge of options and derivative risk management an advantage, -You will posses strong commercial orientation and be a lateral thinker with proven ability to undertake comprehensive industry research and analysis, -Client focused with persuasive communication skills both written and verbal, confident when being challenged, -A collegial team member who builds strong, open dialogue based relationships with clients and colleagues, -You will be self-directed with the ability to prioritise and meet demanding deadlines. -Proficient financial modelling
