Junior Compliance Analyst (Anti-Money Laundering Support), Berlin, Germany, Salary – Competitive
The role is reporting to the Compliance Team Leader in Berlin for AML Support, with functional reporting to Country AML Officers and other subject matter experts in the firms hub locations. The key functions of this role will be to supplement the independent AML Compliance teams in the central European hub locations.
The Role -Ensuring that appropriate business data is delivered or otherwise made available through business systems, -Analysis of clients data for patterns of activity which may indicate potential Money Laundering risk, -Usage of the AML Monitoring tool: more specifically interpretation of its indicators and interaction with Business to ask clarification/enforce completion of mandatory fields, -Escalation of findings from the above data analysis to the team members for their final assessment and review, -Preparation of appropriate reports demonstrating the monitoring performed and the findings identified so for in-country AML team to be able to form its judgement, -Development and maintenance, in conjunction with the in-country team, of the ‘red flag' identifiers (i.e. patterns of activity which indicate potential Money Laundering risk), -Support Global AML in the AML self-assessment activity, liaising with in-country AML Team for its final approval of the said assessment, -Maintaining records of monitoring performed.
Ideal Candidate -Ideally the candidate should have experience working as a data-analyst or as an auditor. Any experience in a legal/ compliance or regulatory background, preferably within the financial services industry, is definitely a plus. -Strong analytical skills. -Ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines with no loss of accuracy and extreme attention to confidentiality. -A basic understanding of the AML issues of a European bank and/or a strong willingness to learn. -Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. -Ability to show initiative and react quickly to changes in priorities. -Candidates should have 1-3 years experience within a compliance department of a financial institution.
